Seminoles’ Jim Allen a late add to Gaming Congress

Seminole Gaming CEO James Allen has been added as the afternoon keynote speaker Thursday at the Florida Gaming Congress in Orlando.

He speaks at 2:40 p.m. at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. Allen, who is also Chairman and President of Seminole Hard Rock Entertainment, will join Florida Senate Majority Leader Bill Galvano and other leaders at the 10th Annual Florida Gaming Congress, which begins with an opening cocktail reception on Wednesday. (I am moderating a session there.)

Allen has been making the rounds explaining why the seven-year, $3.1 billion agreement with the state is a good deal, including an interview with the Orlando Sentinel editorial board. The Florida Legislature must approve the compact, and experts say, as usual, it’s a Rubik’s Cube of issues.

Registration is still open at www.floridagamingcongress.com.
