Casinos didn’t hit South Florida until this century, so sometimes you have to look elsewhere for a sense of history.

So Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is using artwork from Taglialatella Galleries to dress up its smoke-free level2 at the casino. Photos of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Jagger, Marlon Brando, Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly and Coco Chanel adorn the walls. They were created by artist Russell Young, who has shown in galleries and museums in London, Paris and elsewhere.

It’s the second batch of art by Young at the casino; the first consisted of eight Marilyn Monroe pieces.

And if you hit it big, you can buy your favorite. Price range from $13,500 to $29,000 for  Marlon Brando.

The casino offers more than 2,000  slots and over 70 live table games such as blackjack, baccarat and poker. Dining options include NYY Steak, as well as SorrisiItalian restaurant and the New York-style 1st Street Deli.

The casino is at the corner of U.S. 441 (State Road 7) and Sample Road at 5550 NW 40 Street in Coconut Creek, Fla. For more information, call 954.977.6700 or visit
